Electronic Waste 1

All consumer electronics are considered universal waste, a type of hazardous waste.  You might have noticed that consumer electronics (computers, computer parts, printers, copiers, music players, etc.) have a trash can with a circle and line through it, this means the item can not be thrown into the regaulr trash.  The item contains hazardous waste materials (mostly heavy metals) that will contaminate soil and water if thrown into the trash.
